Context: Cerebral palsy is a collection of non-progressive permanent posture and movement disorders. Covid-19 pandemic has given rise to a slew of new rehabilitation possibilities, including shifting from in-person to technology-assisted care. Telerehabilitation medicine enables the provision of patient- and family-centered rehabilitation care on a timely basis.
Evidence Acquisition: To evaluate the diversity of approaches in improving hand function through telerehabilitation in Cerebral Palsy patients. Google scholar and Pubmed were used to carry out an electronic search. Twelve studies were briefly reviewed and added.
Results: The data demonstrated usability of Telerehabilitation in children with CP for improving hand function. Their gross and fine motor functions were significantly improved, and reports the perception of the caregiver.
Conclusions: The conclusion based on the result of training hand function with telerehabilitation to cerebral palsy population shows promising results in improving grip strength, hand dexterity, motor skills, etc. and secondary outcomes caregiver satisfaction.
